Looking across to Chatswood from North Head’s in Manly, NSW.

Sometimes even before you take shot you just know its one for black and white. I never go out with the intention of taking a colour or black and white image, however more often than not the scene sets this for you and its not even a decision in the end.  This image from Sydney’s North Head reserve is a prime example of one that was screaming out to me as monotone and I could picture it through the view finder before even pressing the shutter button.  I loved the sea mist coming off the cliffs and layers of tone escalating through the image until it reaches the silhouette of the buildings set against the sky.
