I know I said I wouldn’t share all of my pictures of the Vivid festival, as for now I’m sure most people’s Facebook timeline is just starting to recover from the vivid onslaught … but I couldn’t resist just one (I have no self control).  When looking through the nights captures this one stuck a chord with me and reminded me of a few more from a Davey Vain song from the 80’s.  The song in question is Electric where he is singing about how she looks and feels electric and that’s exactly how I view my muse during the vivid festival.  If I’m honest, I think I was a little let down this year as it didn’t seem to have as much of a wow factor as previous years but this one blew me away.

For anyone wondering, this was shot hand held and I was pushing the limits at 1/4 of a second on ISO 800.  Luckily the dynamic range of the camera I use combined with the fact that the actual building is hard to see (just the light show is what appears) hides a multitude of sins and I recovered a lot in post production.  From the area I was standing a tripod was out of the question, so given the little option I had I’m happy I managed to captured probably the most spectacular show of all on display this year … and thus I wanted to share it.  I promise thats my last. Maybe.
